Weather

& CROWD CONTROL

Alright, first things first. No season claims totally off-limits on Zanzibar. Sure, there are rainier months and drier months, but, much like other tropical places, rainstorms arrive any time of year, downpour, then turn into a glorious warm sunny day. Again, we are on island time. Here’s a monthly guideline of weather and crowd control:
SEASONS Months
SEASONS : LOW April – May:  Main Rains, Crowd Free.
This is considered Zanzibar’s low season. You’ll find more rain and humidity during this time, but fewer crowds. The rains are intermittent with the odd few days of consistent rain The weather cannot be predicted but April 2019 bought little to no rain, and about 10 days of rain in May. The BIG PLUS is it is definitely a cheaper holiday as rates are lower.
SEASONS: HIGH September – October:
Summer vacation, lots of visitors. Still great weather.November: Short Rains.
Zanzibar receives a more punctuated rainy season at the end of the year. The rainfall amounts vary, but are short and sweet and not worthy of falling into the low season category.
SEASONS: PEAK December – March, June – August: Hot and Dry.
A popular time to visit, especially for diving and snorkeling. Clear waters. This falls at the end of school holidays in Europe and the UK, and northern climates are cold.
