Driftwood Beach Lodge

On the fabulous Spice Island, this Zanzibar Beach Lodge in Jambiani is a place where you can truly get away from it all. A beach lodge where the emphasis is firmly on doing as much or as little as you want, in your own way.

You’ll have plenty of choices: follow the example of our resident beach cats and spend the day sunbathing or chilling in the shade, or take time to stroll along Jambiani Beach’s endless curve of white sand.

Not far from the lodge in Jambiani, you can venture into the local village to visit the fishermen and their boats, and experience a way of life that hasn’t changed in centuries, or enjoy the adrenaline rush of kite surfing.

Plunge beneath the waves to check out the marine wildlife, or simply lie back and watch the dhows – and the world – pass you by.

Driftwood Beach Lodge – it’s your time.

"Loved the hosts, who went out of their way to make us feel like VIPs! They anticipated all our queries and made suggestions of places to go, activities to do and meals to eat. A wonderful setting; so chilled, quiet and cosy. Loved that it's a small place with only 9 rooms and the staff get to know you and your preferences. Appreciate that the location is not overrun by tourists and that it has a real 'island feel'. Will definitely go there again! Thank you Driftwood for making it so memorable! Excellent service by all staff; rooms spotless, laundry service is so reasonable, the food is great and the bar - well stocked!"

"A real gem in the Jambiani area! Friendly and really good staff, good beach frontage, great gardens, infinity pool, good local contacts to help organise excursions and support your own plans."

"Shona and Ismail were exceptional hosts, and created such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food was 5* every night and all the staff were so attentive. They were also incredible at helping to organise activities, transport and everything in between. An unforgettable experience!"

"The moment we arrived it felt like a home far away from home. Excellent staff with time for a joke. Managers Shona and Ismail were absolute legends. There’s seriously nothing to complain. It was simply perfect :)"

"The property is tucked away in this beautiful dreamy village of jambiani. It overlooks the inviting ocean and soft white sand beach. It offers a sense of calm the moment you set foot and genuine hospitality embraces you. Shona and Ish are the hosts who we called family during our stay and their unpretentious care, concern and conversations drew us in instantaneously. The property is carefully cured to blend with its rustic surroundings. The onsite food was delicious with good portions compared to what we ate while in Nungwi restaurants (before arriving in Jambiani). The staff on site are intrinsically motivated and always have a smile on their faces and eager to please whenever needed. we slept with our doors open and that tells a lot about how safe we felt at all times. We arranged for our activities through the property and benefitted from hassle free, well priced, memorable and safe experience on the sea.

We wish we stayed here from the moment we arrived in Zanzibar!"

"Paradise on Earth! There is nothing we didn’t love and if possible, we would’ve stayed longer. I am not sure what convinced us: the facilities / location / staff / food / pool / beach / ambiance or simply the hosts attention to details, attentiveness and friendliness. Our stay was an absolute 10!"

"This was by far the best place we stayed on our trip to Zanzibar (and one of the best we’ve stayed in in a long while!). Ismail, Shona and the rest of the staff made us feel at home the moment we arrived. Food was amazing - the seafood curry was the best curry we’d had in the island and the fish cakes were so good we ordered them almost everyday as a snack. The beach is very clean and less crowded than other areas but there are great restaurants to eat nearby. All in all, would highly recommend and hopefully one day we will return!"

Linh, (UK), Best place!
